A really striking Art Deco silver compact.  This period piece has all over engine turned decoration and is engraved on the top with a typical Art Deco design.  The engine turned design is of really good quality.  This has some of the inserts but is not complete - see pictures.  Fully hallmarked inside the base.  A highly collectable Art Deco silver compact.

Assay Office:  Birmingham

Maker: Turner & Simpson

Date: 1936

Condition -

This silver compact is in very good condition, there isn't any damage to the silver but it does show some very minor use related surface scratches around the plain edges.   These are very minor and commensurate with age and light use.  The compact closes snugly with a click and the hinge is good.  The mirror is also good with no signs of foxing. There are some very minor darker marks to the engine turning - see pictures but these are minor and simply age related.  Hallmarks in the base are good.
