This part replaces obsolete part #: 231-425A
Impact Wrench Anvil O-ring and Socket Retainer Ring are very common wear parts that must be replaced often to regain optimal performance of socket fitment
Your Anvil O-ring and Socket Retainer Ring must be replaced if broken, worn, or when your impact wrench is having problems holding your socket on
Steel socket retainer ring / spring and rubber O-ring are used to secure anvil assembly.
Specially sized to fit cordless and pneumatic impact wrenches. Lasting longer with great fitment.
Specially engineered ring kit is concave inside and designed to fit against the rubber O-ring. The socket retaining ring wraps over the anvil groove O-ring for a great fit.
The ring groove on a used pneumatic tool anvil may need to be smoothly filed to remove burrs which prevents proper fitment and self-adjustment of these rings (and to make sure not to damage the rubber O-ring) when inserting your impact sockets.
Fits on 90% of 1/2" anvil drive tools. Some cordless tool anvils are ground in a manner that these rings will not work. In this case, the metal ring may require filing and fitting for a better fitment.
Also, make sure to check the wear on the internal (female) part of your impact sockets as this may be the problem.
