I've only encountered this Philodendron once in all my years- and I took that specimen home with me :)
This is a super rare Philo- and what's even better is it is SUPER COOL LOOKING!
This is one of the few times we've offered it over the years- and it's the only one we have to sell.
I acquired this cool Philodendron many years ago, and don't know much of its backstory- other than it is a hybrid with one of its parents being Philodendron giganteum.
I have been told that in Asia they sometimes refer to this hybrid as "Jungle Fever" - although that common name refers to a different Philo here in the States.
It is a good grower, and will climb at the same time it will cluster a bit. It seems to like a bright light- morning sun to part sun during the afternoon.
I've had the leaves get up to 2 feet long, with various patterning. It has a very unique leaf shape- kindof a ruffled oval.. like a less serrated Henderson's Pride type of shape. (perhaps one of the parents?)
But OH THE COLORS.. it makes some really neat patterns, from splattery dark green blotches across a lime yellow to misty flicks of greens and yellows, even almost pure white with green flecks-- it always has some kind of patterning on it's leaves, I've never had it revert to green.. the coloration seems very stable. It even has little bits of pink along the midrib!
This is a crown jewel for any Philodendron collection!
