rare and very decorative Ortelius map of Westphalia. The map depicts the whole of Westphalia and is orientated to the East (East at top). It covers
an area between Emden in the Northwest, Bremen in the Northeast, Paderborn in the Southeast and Cologne in the Southwest. The map is further enriched
by 3 impressive cartouches and a milescale. This
genuine copper engraving is a rare German edition from 1580 (Van den Broecke No. 91 - 1580/1589G40). It measures 35 x 50 cm (platesize) and is in good
condition. There is some moderate browning due to age.
