YAMAHA SC-800 1978 Super Combinator

A mania-like collector's item!

This "SC-800" is a rare early Japanese SC model that was manufactured for only 4 years from 1977 to 1980.

This early SC series was equipped with a bar magnet pickup, which was still rare in the 1970s, eliminating dead points when bending, producing a powerful, warm middle tone and a sharp, crisp single PU sound. It has come true.
By freely turning on and off the three pickups, 13 different sound variations are achieved. Furthermore, it is equipped with an original bridge that transmits string vibration directly to the body by dropping a hardtail bridge into the body and passing the sustain block through the body. We succeeded in obtaining sufficient sustain.
I think the SC-800 with its bolt-on neck gives you a more Strat-like feel and difference.

・Body: Alder
・Neck: Maple
・Fingerboard: striped ebony
・Pickup: Bar magnet PU x3
・Control: 3 mini switches, Vol x1, Tone x1
・Serial number: Made in Japan 001***

The SC, which was created using unique Yamaha parts and technology, can be said to be one of Yamaha's answers to the Stratocaster type.
It was released after assessing the direction of the music scene at the time, and is a masterpiece that created the Japanese fusion/rock/new music of the 70s and 80s.
Although this guitar is over 45 years old, it is in very good condition.
