The author of this game has hit upon a popular
method of fixing in the minds of the players the leading
historical and interesting facts connected with the me-  
tropolis of New England.

For your consideration is the antique 1905 card game of Boston history, THE BOSTON GAME: The Leading Facts in the History of Boston.  It was authored and published by Frederick J. Allen (1864-1927), Director of the City History Club of Boston.  Allen was assistant director of the bureau of vocational guidance at Harvard University and the author of several books.

"The Boston Game consists of 56 cards arranged in 14 books of 4 cards.  In the names or subjects standing in heavy type are to be found answers to the questions below."  Each card measures 2-3/8 inches by 3-3/4 inches.  The card backs are plain.  The box measures 2-7/8 inches by 4-1/8 inches.

The Directions cards states, "It is hoped that the use of this game will impart a larger knowledge of Local History, and an increasing pride in our City and in Good Citizenship."

CONDITION:  The game is complete with 56 cards, 14 books of 4 cards each and Directions card in original box.  All cards are in very good condition with few signs of use--very gently rubbed and very lightly soiled.  The box top has two corner splits; it is rubbed and soiled with a small piece of the label lacking at the lower left-hand corner.  The box bottom is intact and in very good condition.  PLEASE MOUSE OVER THE PHOTOGRAPHS FOR CONDITION DETAILS.
