Original LOVE painting from New York City artist Lou Stuart who operated a gallery in the city in the 1960s.

The work is 12" x 7.5" and depicts a girl mouse and a boy mouse facing one another with the word 'love' above them and a daisy to the right of them.

The rare piece has a transparent glaze of a yellow/gold color.  The cartoon mice figures are 1.75" tall and occupy the lower third of the painting.   A florescent orange paint around the edge reallly sets it off.  The word love in lower case letters is also in florescent orange with black outline.

This painting is cute overkill and would make a very welcome gift for collectors of 1960s kitsch and original works of art from that time.  Definitely Woodstock-era, and just a great and highly collectible original piece by Lou Stuart.

It is clearly signed Lou Stuart in the lower right hand corner.

On the back it is stamped with the gallery mark
