Antique Japanese Marked Hirado Mikawachi Fine Porcelain Painted Bowl, 5 boys playing in yard with pine trees and rocks chasing butterflies. Cover could be used either as the lid or as the saucer for the tea bowl.

Provenance: as seen in book "Hirado, Prince of Porcelaind", page 50. Typical high mountain clay (Blanc de Chine) white porcelain, with over glazed blue paintings of 5 boys playing. This pattern dates from late 18th century to early 19th century. This piece is produced in 19th century. Under-glazed early blue glaze. Guarantee as described.

Size: bowl: 4 3/8" wide, and 2" tall; cover: 4 1/8", and 1" tall.

Mark at the bottom of both bowl and cover: "Hirado, Mikawachi". Most Hirado pieces are not marked.

Condition: 1 chip on cover, and 2 tiny chips on bowl; please see photos.
