Antique Sawakhalok Celadon Bowl, Thailand 14th/15th century.
A sturdily potted wheel thrown stoneware bowl with everted rim and chamfered lip. The cavetto has a three line combed decorative lattice pattern enclosed above and below by several incised circular bands. The center medallion is composed of incised circles. The outside wall is smooth and undecorated. All covered in a transparent moss green celadon glaze having a medium crackle and some thick pooling, stopping short of the raised foot rim revealing a pinkish biscuit and a circular pontil scar of black pitch on the countersunk base.
Condition: One small chip to the underside of the lip, one 2 inch long hairline crack from the edge to the base, small firing blisters,  minor surface abrasions otherwise fine.
Measuring: 3-1/4 inches high x 11-5/8 inches in diameter (8.3 x 29.5 cm).
