This G-Loomis Rod is from the Billy Murray Collection. Billy Murray’s Fishing Career started as a Young Fishing Guide in Arkansas. He quickly earned a Top Fishing Guide Reputation and started Fishing the B.A.S.S. Professional Bass Tournaments from 1969-1974. Billy quickly realized there was a Strong Desire for Fishermen across the USA to learn how to Bass Fish Successfully and Started “The Bass Fishing Institute” in 1975 thru 1984 at Mountain Harbor Resort on Lake Ouachita, Arkansas. His Bass Fishing Institute would literally Educate 10’s of 1,000’s of Fishermen on how to Bass Fish using Multiple Methods & Techniques while being taught by Bobby Murray, Billy’s Twin Brother & 2-time B.A.S.S. Classic Winner, Al Linder, Bill Dance, Tom Mann, Charlie Campbell, Forrest Wood, Roland Martin, Jimmy Houston, Rick Clunn and 11 other Bass Fishing Professionals.

In 1979 Indiana State University and Cliff Paulin teamed up with Billy to Present the Bass Fishing Institute Curriculum at 19 University’s across the Country as a Continuing Education Course. 1981 Billy received the Prestigious Creative Programming Award thru his Indiana State University Curriculum by the National University Continuing Education Association, an organization of 300 Major Universities. Billy was also Invited to the 1982 Bass Masters Classic to present the Bass Fishing Institute.

Billy was also a Producer, Cameraman and Fishing Guide for “The Fishing Hole” TV Series starring Jerry McKinnis from 1974-1987.

Due to Billy’s Major Contributions in the Field of Fishing he was Elected to the Sport Fishing Hall of Fame in 1986 and later to The Bass Fishing Hall of Fame in 2016. Billy and Bobby were Hosts for various TV Programs, including “In Your Tackle Box” on ESPN, “The Guides” on ESPN2 and “People Who Fish” on the Outdoor Channel.

Billy had a Long & Storied Career in the Fishing Industry including an additional 35 Years with Pradco as a Sales Rep, Lure Designer and Educator.
