Vintage book on Japanese culture throughout the ages, depicting many different examples and forms. Generously illustrated. A rare book. The boards are finished with a silk brocade. Gold leaf flecked endpapers. Japanese stab binding with silk ties. Printed paper label on cover inset in a shallow well. Gilt head and tail edges.

Condition: Small puncture dent in front cover and a small pencil mark of the edge. The inner pages are free from damage and the text block is tight. The black and white illustrations are clear and visible. Back fly leaf creased. Top corner of pages was bumped. Minor scuffing on edges of boards. Very Good condition. Original box is worn and edges are taped but complete.
