This listing is for a vintage "Sparkle-Aire" model mouthpiece for alto saxophone. These were made by 'The Woodwind Co.'. It is marked "STEEL EBONITE", which is another term for hard rubber. There is also some patent information stamped on the mouthpiece.

This mouthpiece has deeply scooped inner side walls and a large round chamber. It is stamped B5 on the table, and the tip opening is .060", which is fairly close by modern standards. For reference, that would be slightly smaller than a Selmer C. This piece is made of hard rubber, not plastic.

This mouthpiece is in excellent condition. The facing is perfectly smooth, and original. There are no tooth indentations on the beak. There are no cracks, chips, or other damage. The rubber shows some discoloration/fading on the shank end, but the markings are nice and clear, and there is minimal scratching. This mouthpiece has been cleaned/sanitized, so it is ready to use.

Please feel free to email me with any questions.

Thanks again for looking!
