HARDY TAMARILLO HYBRID Pinczow 1 (SOLANUM CORYMBIFLORUM X DIPLOCONOS) - 7 seeds

The seeds are open pollinated - harvested from 'Pinczow 1' variety and pollinated by any of other BC1 hybrid varieties of 'Pinczow Group' [(Solanum corymbiflorum x diploconos) x corymbiflorum], or variety 'Iwona' Group [(Solanum corymbiflorum x diploconos) x diploconos] (BC1), or variety 'Lynn' (Solanum corymbiflorum x diploconos) F1 - the pollen donor is not stricly known, due the flowers were pollinated by bumblebees. Some seeds can have one male parent and other aonther male parent, due the seeds are removed from a few fruits. This variety is probably hardy to some frosts, but it is not known how severe ones yet. The fruits ripe after about 5 months after pollination (in December and January), but they can mature even in cool cellar in autumn/winter in temperature about 5 C degree (= 41 F degree) if plants are grown in pots and taken to cellar in autumn. The fruits of female parent variety are very tasty, almost completly without of any unpleasant aftertaste and very strongly, wonderful fragrant. The female parent it is the earliest ripening fruit variety of all which we have breeded so far. The plants grown from these seeds can be various, due the most certain propagation manner of Tamarillo hybrid varieties is cutting. But the plants grown from seeds can also give good tasting and valuable plants but probably only in any per cent - not all. The seeds are FIRST TIME OFFERED FOR SALE. (we are THE ONLY OWNER IN THE WOLRD of the parent plants). The seeds should be sown surface and kept gently moist in light and warm place (for example on window sill, covered by transparent plastic foil, not too wet and not to dry) - in such conditions germinates easily within about 1-1,5 month. Some seedlings can be chlorotic and die in young age - there is some per cent of such seedlings, so it is your risk if you buy the seed. Package 7 very fresh seeds (7 small dry seeds - NOT fruits and NOT plants). Only a few packages available.
