For your consideration is a circa 1940s, WWII-era UNITED STATES PUZZLE MAP published by Parker Brothers of Salem, Massachusetts.  Although the copyright date reads "1915," this is not an indication of the puzzle's production date since Parker Brothers used that date on all of its map puzzles for decades.  The red, white and blue motif on the cover and the box aprons indicates that it was made in the 1940s.

The puzzle pieces arevcut on state lines; they are lithographed paper over 1/4-inch wood and are backed with a green-textured paper.  The puzzle measures 20 inches across and 12 inches tall.  The box measures 13 inches by 8 inches by1-5/8th inches.

CONDITION: The puzzle is complete in its original box with a guide picture inside the box top.  The colors of the puzzle are bold and bright but some pieces are lightly soiled; others (see, e.g., Nebraska) are missing a very small amount of paper.  The box top has one split corner.  The box bottom is fully intact.  The box cover label is rubbed and soiled with heaviest wear around the extremities.  There are some light crayon (?) marks at the upper rIght-hand corner.  PLEASE MOUSE OVER THE PHOTOGRAPHS FOR CONDITION DETAILS.
