Vintage fold-out 1946 Standard Oil Company road map of the southeastern United States, printed more than 78 years ago.

  • This map opens to 27" x 19½" and has great detail on old highway alignments and route numbers, with cartography by H.M. Gousha.


  • The coverage area includes Florida, Alabama, Georgia, South Carolina, North Carolina, Kentucky, Tennessee, Virginia, West Virginia, Maryland, Delaware, Pennsylvania, and New Jersey, along with insets of Cuba and southern Florida.


  • The map was published by the Standard Oil Company of Indiana in 1946, and it is dated by the code number in the lower margin: T-3.


  • There's a transcontinental highway map of the United States on the reverse side.


  • The cover artwork shows Standard's distinctive red-white-and-blue oval service station sign, along with the rectangular sign it was replacing at Standard gas stations.
