fold-out 1946 Standard Oil Company road map of the southeastern United
States, printed more than 78 years
ago.

This map opens to 27" x 19½" and has great detail on old highway
alignments and route numbers, with cartography by H.M. Gousha.

The coverage area includes Florida,
Alabama, Georgia, South Carolina, North Carolina, Kentucky, Tennessee,
Virginia, West
Virginia, Maryland, Delaware, Pennsylvania, and New Jersey, along with
insets of Cuba and southern Florida.

The map was published by the Standard Oil Company of Indiana in 1946,
and it is dated by the code number in the lower margin: T-3.

There's a
transcontinental highway map of the United States on the reverse side.

The cover artwork shows Standard's distinctive red-white-and-blue oval
service station sign, along with the rectangular sign it was replacing
at Standard gas stations.

Condition: This map is in very good, lightly used
condition, bright, and clean, with route marking by Standard's travel
service and no
