This exquisite card case showcases the elegance of the Victorian era ( approximately 1837-1901) (although some people say it is 1820-1914 ) with its intricate design and use of precious materials. Crafted from sterling silver (.925), this antique ( 100 years old or more) piece features a stunning abalone & mother-of-pearl inlay that adds a touch of sophistication. The card case boasts a style that is truly timeless. I think this would be a very elegant way for someone to display their business cards.

With its rich history and exceptional craftsmanship, this Victorian card case is perfect for collectors or anyone seeking a unique and elegant accessory. The intricate details and high-quality materials make this piece a true standout and a testament to the skilled craftsmanship of the past.

There is an English hallmark or insignia on the front.

The case measures approximately 4 1/8 inches Tall x approximately 3 inches Wide. This card case has a tiny piece of Mother of Pearl missing on the back side of it and there is some wear. I just noticed a tiny piece of abalone missing on the front of the case. Enlarge the photos in case I missed something. But if I was over 100- 120 years old I would have some wear and dings too.
