18th Century Copper Engraving of the City of Bath (England), Hand-Colored

A perspective view of the City of Bath in the county of Somersetshire, England. This is a copper engraving from "The Complete English Trailer" or, "A New Survey and Description of England and Wales" by Nathaniel Spencer, published 1771.

Dimensions: 7” x 11 1/4” plus margins.

Frame: 14 1/2” x 17 1/2.

The print is in very good condition with light soiling. Beautifully hand-colored. I retained the frame that encased the print when I purchased it (a 20th century maple frame). I had the matting and the backing changed with high quality acid-free materials. I replaced the glass with museum-quality conservation glass. It is all in very good and stable condition. Verso, on the new dust cover I had the sticker re-applied which reads: "This print is guaranteed to be an original and over 100 years old. hand coloring by Muriel Bennett." Presumably, this sticker was applied years ago when the printed was sold in a shop.
