Popsies are three-dimensional wooden greeting-card figures made in Japan and distributed by Pride Creations of New York back in 1960/1970s. It’s a mid-century curiosity which registers high on the cool meter.

This one features a young ragamuffin, complete with slingshot (painted on). Push him down, and up pops a little sign out of his head reading “Happy Birthday, Big Boy!”

Give it as a gift or collect them for yourself, people will think you are groovy.
