Description: [Montana] Two Montana Booklets with Copper Wrappers - The Garden Club Federation of Montana 1941-1942 Year Book, Mrs. R. H. Straub, Montana State Federation of Garden Clubs, Montana, 1942, 4 x 6.75 inches, 12 pp.
and Rotary International Twenty-Third Annual Conference 112th District Program, C.G. Manning, Rotary International, Butte, Montana, 1946, 4 7/8 x 8 inches, 19 pp.

Staple-bound booklets with copper covers and black stamped lettering; the Garden Club yearbook has a hammered copper texture; wrappers of both booklets have minor creasing and edge wear; Garden Club booklet has a few unobtrusive pen marks to interior pages; else interior pages of both booklets clean, unmarked; very good condition overall.

Both booklets contain text and black and white photographs. The wrappers of the Rotary International booklet appear to be actual copper sheet, while the wrappers of the Garden Club booklet I believe are paper made to resemble hammered copper. The Rotary booklet consists of general Rotary information, a program of events for the 1946 conference, and a few pages of song lyrics, as well as portraits of Rotary officials. The Garden Club booklet lists officers and committees, new members, Constitution articles and bylaws, and a greeting to all the Montana garden clubs from Vivian Irvine, or Mrs. S. H. Irvine, the 1942 president of the Montana State Federation of Garden Clubs.

A very unique pair of items. The copper wrappers may have been chosen because Butte was home to the Anaconda Copper Mine Company, at one point one of the largest copper producers in the world.

Scarce; neither booklet found in OCLC as of January 2024. Very Good.
