This tube of oil paint is a carefully blended hue of the historical 19th-century color "Emerald Green (PG21)". This color is arguably the most beautiful single pigment green ever made. Emerald Green comes with the baggage of being extremely toxic and is very reactive with sulfur-based pigments and even shifts in hue within oil binders. This color holds a special place in my heart as it was the first rare color I obtained. I have owned and used a variety of sources of Emerald Green and have come up with a similar imitation. Emerald Green is a semi-transparent minty green.
