This is a ThinkPad P52s mobile workstation laptop with the typical, very high build quality of the ThinkPad line.  It features a beautiful, bright, very high resolution UHD (3840 x 2160) IPS FlexView display in like-new condition with no hot or dead pixels or any other imperfections, which is driven by a discrete NVIDIA Quadro P500 video adapter with 2 GB of its own RAM.  It also has a fast and brand-new Samsung 1 TB NVMe SSD, 16 GB of RAM, the legendary ThinkPad keyboard (with backlight), and speakers that actually sound darn good when I crank up the latest tunes.  This computer runs the latest version of Windows 10 Pro perfectly, is very fast, and will be ready to use right out of the shipping box.

Networking

The built-in Intel Wireless-AC 8265 wireless adapter works flawlessly on both the 2.4 and 5 GHz bands.

This P52s also has a standard Ethernet network port on the right side (at the back).  

 

 

Refurbishing

This laptop came to me in excellent cosmetic condition but was missing key components.  I installed a new Samsung 970 EVO Plus 1 TB NVMe SSD, 2 new Kingston 8 GB DDR4 memory modules, and a (barely) used genuine Lenovo external battery.  I then applied a fresh coat of Artic MX-4 thermal compound to the CPU and GPU to help both run cooler and last longer and cleaned the fan and the entire inside of the computer while I had it open.  

After installing Windows 10 Pro version 22H2 64-Bit (which is digitally activated) and all available driver and system updates from Microsoft, Lenovo, Intel, and NVIDIA, I thoroughly tested the computer including the batteries and all ports and features. 

Was this laptop worth all the effort? – absolutely, in my opinion, because it is now in near perfect condition and the UHD screen is truly outstanding.

 

About the Batteries:  most sellers on eBay do not take the time to test batteries, but I always do a full rundown test to make sure they are in good condition before I offer a laptop for sale.  This laptop has two batteries:  a 4-cell internal battery that still holds over 91% of its original capacity and a 9-cell external battery that holds more than 86% or its original design charge.  My testing shows that the two batteries will run this laptop for around 10 hours or even longer, depending on how it is used of course.

 

For sake of completeness

This laptop is not new and does show some minor signs of prior use.  It has several very light scuffs and marks on the exterior case and two barely noticeable areas on the top cover where there were stickers.  There is nothing broken or missing or cracked though, and the overall condition is outstanding.  Please see the pictures I have included in this listing, all of which are of this P52s and are NOT stock pictures.

Windows 11:  This computer is fully compatible with and can be upgraded to Windows 11 at any time at no cost via Windows Update.  If you would like me to do that before shipping, just include a note at time of purchase.
