These Vintage NEW Wolford fishnets “The Eighties” are from aprox 2002. Size small, but are so stretchy will comfortably fit up to a size large (on the smaller side of large). Color is “Cosmetic” a light beige/nude color. Great alone or to wear with another pair of hose under the fishnets to really spice up your look. Wolford has reissued the basic design of “whale net” fishnets, but the quality simply doesn’t compare. Many companies copied them, but couldnt compete with the quality.  From 1990 to about 2007 was the height of Wolford’s quality in design and materials. They really worked hard at creating the best quality and designs. Hiring Helmut Newton to showcase their masterpieces was the perfect move. Once Helmut Newton had passed on, Wolford just didnt maintain their excellence… riding on their reputation instead. (They are still incredible…just not quite the same). While you can of course still find these designs, they are getting rarer. Be good to yourself! Give yourself the luxury you deserve.

Wolford of the late nineties early 2000 years were magnificent. The style inspired Helmut Newton and Newton Inspired the designers at Wolford. I was told by the manager of the Beverly Hills Rodeo Drive store that all the looms worked diligently 24 hours a day seven days a week… but nobody could convince Wolford to stay open for the month of August. The factory shut down collecting dust for the European vacation month. We all wept for the lost time…and the hard to find favorites we knew would be discontinued soon. Wolford developed the 360 degree seamless looms for pantyhose as well as their skirts, pants and tops. It was so obvious yet even 20 years later competitors are sewing together stockings like it’s 1959 when pantyhose were invented. I hated looking down to see the seem meandering down my belly through my clothing… bad panty lines AND bad pantyhose lines!! Collaborations with the likes of Philipe Stark, Karl Lagerfeld, Jean Paul Gaultier (before he fell off his gorgeous pedestal), Pucci, Burberry and Vivienne Westwood. The BH manager, Pam, and a wonderful saleswoman at the Wolford outlet, became my new best friends. Who knew these pantyhose/stockings/tights and clothes would be one of my better investments lol. I had begun collecting like a freak.

Besides all the unopened packages, I have two huge black trash bags filled with worn only once designs in storage. Hopefully I can resurrect some of them for the die hard enthusiasts with a budget… or making dreams come true like I did with the TRUE Logomania design… not the later horrid bad editor copy of times roman or whatever horror show the later debacle was. The original fun Logomanias wound up on the best model in Chicago… I’m sure her legs are better than mine are at present… but not like they were back then… I even managed to turn Helmut’s and June’s heads more than once… ok so it was twice!! But still I treasure those moments talking with them… and stupidly declining a photo shoot (I’d had it up to my eyeballs with photographers who wanted to photograph my friends and I all day long… but would disappear the second so requested a print…so bad timing Helmut. by the time I’d come to my senses he was on his way out. A true master of his art…loving the kink and finding the sexy in normal seemingly bland moments. Don’t be afraid to ask if i have a specific design. my earliest is 1993… and newest is 2023!
