Exquisite silk embroidery on cotton fabric. Blue colors with intricate workmanship.

A suzani is a hand-embroidered textile panel; the word comes from the Persian word suzan, which means needle. To speak to it's authencity, the ladies crafting these have uneven finished edges (see photos). These pieces look like a work of art. Originating from nomadic tribes in Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan and other Central Asian countries, suzanis have become highly collectable and valued for their beautiful decoration and fine craftsmanship. Size is 20" x 42". Cream background cotton fabric with multicolored silk thread embroidery. Hand made piece, originates from Bukhara region, Uzbekistan.

Utility - Table runner, pillow cover and as framed textiles for display.

Please note that this is a textile that is hand embroiderd and is not a commercialy made piece. The edges are not perfectly finished and there may be minor pulls from the embroidery stitching. These suzanis are made informally in local villages and as such do not have any tags attached but are new. Any questions? Please ask before purchase. Thank You!
