Lot of 3 Life Magazines – Nov 6, 1970, Jan 14, 1972, & March 1988

Used Very Good Condition

The November 6, 1970, has a beautiful cover picture of a young Richard Nixon at 14 playing the violin in his high school orchestra.  Besides the cover story of a young Richard Nixon, some of the other stories included are Shock Room (an article aboutHouston’s Ben Taub General Hospital’s Emergency Room), For the Defense: Lem Barney of the Lions, & William F. Buckley Savors Lady Bird Johnson’s White House Diary.

The cover of the January 14, 1972 edition announces Super Bowl Scouting Report The Pros Rate the Two Teams & has a picture of Tom Landry & Roger Staubach  corresponding with an article inside the magazine. Some other articles are The Best of Life, American Pie (about the singer Don McLean), The Right to Die, & Cross-Country Ski Craze.

The last magazine dated March 1988, includes a wonderful cover ofGilda Radner for the story Gilda Radner’s Answer to Cancer Healing the Body with Mind & Heart. Other articles include The Ascent of Sarah – Fergie finds the royal top gun, The Lioness in Winter – Katherine Hepburn at 80 & Saved by Love – Ex-Go-Go Belinda Carlisle goes solo.

All three editions include beautiful pictures supporting each article.

As expected, each magazine contains classic ads for Shasta Cola, Benson & Hedges 100s cigarettes, GoodYear, Diet Coke, & Nissan Automobiles.

With these magazines being over 50 years, they do have some conditionfissues. While the 1988 magazine is in Like New condition, the 1970 issue has the cover partially coming apart from the spine & a 25 cent orange sticker on the cover.  The Super Bowl magazine from 1972 has a few interior pages that are only partially stapled to the spine, but are still in great condition. Even with these issues, all three magazines include all their pages with great graphics & none are missing.

Am willing to sell as a lot or separately.
