A Japanese Imari Dish in the form of a Treasure Boat,с.1900 .

 The body shallow potted with a modelled stern and prow, the decoration in the typical ‘Imari’ palette of underglaze blue, iron red and gold with the addition of small areas of green enamel, the exterior sides decorated with stylised waves and sea spray in underglaze blue,, the flat base unglazed.

In Japanese folklore, the Takarabune or "Treasure Ship", is a mythical ship piloted through the heavens by the Seven Lucky Gods during the first three days of the New Year. Ceramic boat shape dishes were produced during the Meiji period (1868-1912) in both Arita and Imari porcelains. 

The plate features a painting of exceptional rarity, depicting a mythical creature with the head of a dragon and the body of a deer. It is in excellent antique condition, with only minor imperfections noted: a small, inconspicuous enamel damage in the upper right corner, as well as a minor chip on the rim.
