Ryne Sandberg will always be remembered by Cubs fans for his hard-nosed play and loyalty to the Chicago area. Sandberg is considered by many to be the greatest second baseman of all time. He appeared in ten All-Star Games, won nine Gold Gloves, seven Silver Slugger Awards, and was named the 1984 NL MVP. His jersey is now retired by the Chicago Cubs.
