19th c Watercolor Painting of Trees Growing Along a River Bank with Open Fields in the Distance

Very finely painted and signed bottom left corner “F. R. Hodshon”. Great detail is conveyed in the reflection on the water and in the colorful sky. It is a very well painted piece.

When I had the painting reframed I had the identification card from the back of the previous frame posted onto the new dust cover. It reads: "The River Ouse near Barcombe, Sussex.

The recent framing is of outstanding quality. Under museum-quality conservation glass is a woven linen / silk matting with an additional interior wooden filler which compliments the exterior frame. The backing is entirely conservation, acid-free materials. The wooden frame is of high-quality, the caliber of that the company Roma.
