Floating Water Spangles / Salvinia Minima Aquarium Plants x35 (approx) UK Grown

Water Spangles (Salvinia minima) is a Central and South American floating plant that is known for its dangling roots, which are a great feeding area and refuge for your fry. This hardy plant propagates rapidly and can provide shade to parts of the aquarium, encouraging more timid species to come out of hiding.

Water Spangles are extremely easy to care for, and do not require CO2 supplementation. They thrive in a relatively wide pH range, under moderate to high lighting, although they reportedly do not like a high level of surface agitation. They are best suited to an aquarium with gentle water flow. Under these simple conditions, they will multiply very quickly, providing significant denitrification as well as oxygenation, both of which are important in aquariums with low water flow. As they spread, some Water Spangles plants should be removed, ensuring that they do not completely cover the entire water surface and smother the aquarium.

This quick growing plant is perfect for keeping your tanks healthy by efficiently removing ammonia, nitrite, and nitrate from your aquarium. It also provides shade for your fish, and good hiding places / cover for your fry. Fish love to root about between the leaves!

The roots hang down into your tank, giving a pleasing visual effect from this easy to grow plant.
