Welcome to the National Music Museum blog! Today, we are excited to showcase a truly iconic piece from our collection: an electric guitar by Gibson U.S.A., Nashville, dating back to 1997. This particular guitar holds a special place in music history as it is the "Lucille" model famously associated with the legendary B. B. King. In a moment captured for eternity, T. Wilson King watches as B. B. King himself autographs the guitar in his dressing room in Omaha on November 5, 2000. This guitar was acquired through the generous purchase funds gifted by T. Wilson & Sandra L. King and family, as well as contributions from Elizabeth Spivey & David Bergin, Dave Bernstein, and others in 2001. The stunning photo of this historic moment was taken by Sandra L. King and is a testament to the lasting impact of B. B. King's legacy on the world of music. Stay tuned for more updates and highlights from the National Music Museum, where we celebrate the rich history and cultural significance of musical instruments.
