I have here for sale a book entitled TALES FROM BECTIVE BRIDGE by MARY LAVIN With a Preface by Lord Dunsany published by Michael Joseph Ltd., London, in 1943.  First edition.  Here we have the first book published by the Irish writer Mary Lavin 1912-1996).  It is a collection of ten short stories about life in rural Ireland, which was critically acclaimed and won the James Tait Black Memorial Prize for fiction.  

Orange cloth boards with black lettering on the spine.  Minor marks on the boards with slight darkening to the spine.  Remains of a library label with a stamp on the rear endpaper.  Minor crack to the front endpaper but all pages are firm and the book is in very good overall condition.  xi, 220 pages.  18.5 x 12.5 cm.
