I have here for sale a rare edition of MANSFIELD PARK by Jane Austen, Vols I and II.  It is part of a 10 volume set entitled The Novels of Jane Austen edited by Reginald Brimley Johnson.  These two are the fourth edition published in 1906 by J M Dent & Co, London (first edition published in 1898).  It has 12 colour plates by H M Brock (6 in Vol I and 6 in Vol II).  There is also a b/w illustrated chapter header on the first page of each volume.  Plates are tissue guarded.  Illustrated endpapers with blue JA initials motif.

Bound in very light green cloth hardboards with dark green pattern to the front board and illustration of a young lady in the middle.  Gilt title lettering to the front and spine with a small dark green illustration to the spine.  Spine is darkened.  Some slight bumping to head and tail and to corners.  Spine cloth on Vol II is a little crinkled and has a couple of bumps to the edges.  Illustrated endpapers.  Some slight fraying and darkening to the page edges.  Binding firm.  Some very light foxing to just first and last few pages, a little bit heavier on the last page of Vol I.  Condition overall: very good.  Vol I 245 pages, Vol II 249 pages.  18 cm x 12 cm.

Elsewhere on Ebay this week and next week, I shall also be listing the other eight volumes of this set, so please keep an eye on my shop if you want to buy the complete set.
