I love where I live in northern Michigan.   Spring time the woods are filled with the drumming noises of partridge wings beating.  In the fall, the leave are changing colors and the first frost kills the ferns so the hint for the allusive grouse is in full swing.  The bust bv from cover with a loud noise that startles a hunter perhaps long enough so it can escape.  It's a thrill equal to any big game when a hint comes together and you end up with a few in your bag and on your table that evening.   This carving captures the likeness of a grouse and will remind you of prior hunts and why we chase these beautiful birds.
