A set of six amazing Essex crystals depicting various animals associated with hunting - including three dogs with big personalities!

 In their original fitted case, they're dress studs - little buttons that fasten a shirt. With hand engraved rose gold surrounds, each is made of molded glass which is reverse hand painted. The deep rounded front and the image painted into a molded hollow within the glass, gives an incredible 3d effect as each one moves realistically using forced perspective! The three dogs are joined by a horse, a stag and a wily fox - my favourite, he looks so cunning and capable! They're backed with mother of pearl to add yet another dimension of contrast, shifting as the light moves across, and within the box are four stud rings, three with wonderful pearl backs. 

Dating to around 1900, they're in very good condition for their age, with minor wear to the glass fronts and discolouration to the pearl backing panels. The studs and backs weigh 16.3 grams unboxed, and each is absolutely tiny at 14 mm diameter.
