This old inkwell has four griffin figures on the corners and an ornate filigree design. There is a symbol on the bottom with several letters or numbers inside a triangle that's inside a circle. I assume it's the maker, but I don't know what it means. It is missing the inkwell fro the center. Each griffin was separately cast and supposed to be connected to the base at two points. One griffin is loose because it's only connected at one. Two legs look slightly bent and two more more severely bent. They don't appear to be damaged, so they could have been cast that way. The metal is solid and won't bend at all if I try with my hands. I have not attempted to bend them using tools.

The overall size is about 5 3/4" x 6 1/4" x 5" tall, and it weighs 1 lb. 12.7 oz.
