Gerundino Fernandez Hijo is the son of the legendary Almeria builder of the same name. When you play his instruments you are immediately convinced that he possesses the same subtle touch as his late father. This should come as no surprise, as he grew up constantly in the workshop, assisting his father over many years with such tasks as sanding wood, inlaying kerfings, gluing backs and tops, etc. He also regularly accompanied and assisted his uncle Eladio in locating, cutting and selecting the best woods that would eventually become the material for his fathers guitars, and now, his own.
This iguitar from Gerundino Fernandez Hijo is a real cannon. It has the original design from his fathers guitars (including the famous carved head), as well as the sound - the trademark woody, traditional flamenco sound of Gerundino is all here. The guitar has huge volume, easy playability and excellent craftsmanship. Overall a fantastic and iconic instrument in every way.
The scale length is 660 mm and the nut width is 52 mm. It has a spruce top and cypress back and sides. The tuning pegs are mechnical pegs from pegheds (http://www.pegheds.com).
