Our
mom loved to travel and she was fascinated by
paper currency and coins from other countries as
well as the US. She also believed that it was
worthwhile to invest in silver and gold. She
joked often about how good life was being on the
'gold standard' (a historical reference).
When
she passed away we found ourselves with a lot of
banknotes and coins as well as silver (she could
never afford to invest in gold). We have reached
an age where we are trying to downsize our
lives. So we would like to see our mom's
collection end up with others who will
appreciate the beauty and value of these items
as she did. We can't really say that all of the
items in her collection are 'collectable' but
hopefully we will find others to enjoy them as
much as she did.
This
is a 1998 Peace on Earth silver round featuring
Frosty the Snowman. It weighs one troy ounce and
is .999 fine silver. There are two snowmen with
the larger one holding a teddy bear. There are
also snowflakes above their heads. It says Merry
Christmas to the left of his head and on the
other side it says "Peace on Earth"!
Condition:
This coin is in a sealed plastic holder. There
are some discolored marks on both sides. Only
about half the marks are real (when looking at
it physically) and the other half are part of
the design. A couple of minor marks
are reflections from the plastic.
Please
keep in mind that photographing items that are
encased in shiny clear plastic makes for weird
marks and reflections that do not actually exist
on the item unless otherwise noted above.
All
items come from my family's personal collection.
This
is a non-smoking home.
Photos are of actual
items that you will receive.
