Scarce Vintage Notre Dame Grammar School Sheffield Enamel Pin Badge.

Notre Dame School in Sheffield was established in 1855 by the Sisters of Notre Dame shortly after they came to England and remained a Catholic grammar school for girls until 1976, when it became a mixed comprehensive.

Today the school caters for around 1,356 pupils aged from 11 to 19 years.

The badge depicts the school’s crest and motto AH! QU’IL EST BON LE BON DIEU (Ah! How good is the Good God), a favourite exclamation of St. Julie Billiart of Cuvilly, France (1751-1816).
