This is the extraordinary, new 19-Volume Extended Edition of the Confederate Military History. It is far superior to the original, 1899, 12-Volume series skillfully edited by respected Confederate General and historian Clement A. Evans. This set is a facsimile reprint of the original set with considerable new materials and volumes all handsomely published in matching covers. Written by former Confederates, the set provides a comprehensive, Confederate, military history. The set lays the foundation for the understanding or the regional difference that existed prior to the Civil War and the reasons for those differences. It addresses both political and military matters of importance.
Confederate Military History details the military history of the Confederacy and of each Confederate state. The volumes are complete with eyewitness battle accounts, first-hand narratives, military organizational charts, illustrations and battle maps. The states included Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Mississippi, Missouri, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia, West Virginia, and a volume on the Confederate Navy as well. In addition to other material related to the battles and matters in the respective states, the state volumes include biographies of the general officers from that state.
