A
beautiful rare antique English Delph William Alsager Adderley
Serving Dish With Lid. The dish dates between 1886 and 1905. The dish
is decorated on one side with country lake scene, on the other side
is a scene with a Windmills. At either end are scenes with Yachts.
The dish and Lid have no chips or cracks but in line with its 119
years of age there is some age related wear to the gilding and there
is some slight discolouration under the glaze on the inside of the
dish. The lid has a windmill and lake scene corresponding to the
sides of the serving dish. From handle to handle the dish is 27.7cm
long, it is 19.2cm wide at its widest point and with the lid on is
13cm high. The dish is marked Delph Trademark England W.A.A & Co
with a sailing ship. There is also a number on the base that we
cannot read. The stamp on the base of the dish was used by William
Alsager Adderley between 1886 and 1905.
