This stunning hand-thrown ceramic dish from Edwin and Mary Scheier boasts a stylish swirl design in  warm taupe, aqua, and dark taupe colors. Crafted in the mid-century modern style, this dish is a perfect addition to any vintage collection. This Scheier dish was made in the United States during the 1940-1949 time period. It's not just a functional item but also a decorative art piece with its vintage appeal.  I believe this particular dish was never used for cooking or serving, it was just an art piece to admire.  Turn it over to view the artist inscribed signature.

With the price of Scheier art increasing and ranging into the thousands, a less than perfect piece will still command a hefty price.  I have seen other pieces that are in worse condition, selling for more than this one.  If you want a casserole for cooking, go to your favorite chain store.  If art is what you are interested in then take the time to consider this piece and compare it to what is out on the market.  It's a beautiful piece, with beautiful colors and certainly will be admired on display in your home or office.
