Antique French Solid Silver Mesh/ Chainmail purse/ bridal bag, with double cabochon sapphire clips and ornate silver carry strap, c.1910.


Cleaned and polished using traditional methods, the purse is immaculately preserved, with no damage, repair or visible signs of wear.


The body of the purse is made with individual silver pieces, formed in a chain design; the bottom of the bag is further embellished in a ‘lace’ pattern.


The frame of the purse is a heavy solid pattern; the purse is opened and closed via the two natural blue cabochon sapphire mounted clips on the frame, which are in perfect working order. The sapphire’s display a wonderful, vivid blue hue under the light.


The original carry strap/ chain is also present and secure; ornately decorated, and adjustable via the original small ‘loop’ mechanism, which can be used to alter the strap length.


A rare find in original/ undamaged condition, the item provides a glimpse into the design history of the time; a must for collectors.
