This magneto drive was introduced in May 1911 for the first of the famous 8 Valve racing machines.

In 1914 this magneto drive was incorporated in the "Hendee Special" electric start model.

There were two Indian Ëlectric Start models ,The first was a coil ignition model ,The second was the "Hendee Special" Magneto model,due to the fact that you could start the magneto model even if the batteries ran flat.

Very few of these were made before the "Hendee Special "was discontinued.

This magneto drive is so rare that I have not seen another in 40 years of looking and doubt if there are more than half a dozen still in existence.

This Mag drive would add immense value to any restoration.
