This pretty, light blue transparent, hand blown glass piece is a sock darner. To save money, people would stitch over holes in socks. This piece would help form the heal or toe so the stitching was done close to as made. This sock darner is 5-3/8" long x 2-1/4" wide x 1-1/2" thick. Picture #5 shows the top, and picture #6 shows the bottom. This sock darner was made in the 1930s or even earlier.

This darner sewing tool was used through the years. There are no big chips or cracks. There are scratches and small needle pricks.
