FLIGHT NASA Apollo Saturn V First Stage Structural Support Rod

FLIGHT   NASA Apollo Saturn V Moon Rocket structural support cylinder.

This artifact is made from a high strength tool steel alloy with a GOLD TONE Chromate surface finish and was designed to support and attach critical hardware on the internal structure of the Saturn V Heavy Lift Launch Vehicle.

75M 08177-3 B designates the item as a flight component of the Saturn Rocket.

The basic dimensions are:  10.125 inches long by 0.75 inches in diameter.

It weighs a little over one pound with precision machined threads on each end.

Charles H. Bell purchased this item back in the 1970's-80's from the NASA Kennedy Space Center Ransom Road Facility.
