Paper hardcover with silver font lettering & design on spine. Cover boards and design on this book differ from the wave and ship design of the original first edition.

Cover boards are smooth, light blue paper, with cloth on spine.

Beautiful dustjacket true to original first edition only shows no price and states "printed in U.S.A." on the back flap.  Dustjacket shows three tiny tears at topmost edge. 

Inside covers front and rear are clean and bright.

Front and rear endpapers are clean and bright with NO previous owner's personalization of any kind. No identification or mark of the reproduction publisher appears, and there is NO statement of being a "book club edition."

Binding is tight and square and text blocks are secure; hinges are fine.

No evident edgewear to cover boards, and corners are square and sharp.

Spine is in mint condition. 

Pages edges are smooth cut and white & bright at all edges.

Cover, inside pages, & inside cover illustrations front and rear are clean and bright.

Book bears no marks, damage, or water staining and does not smell of age, mold, dank, basements, smoke of any kind, damp, or mustiness. Book has been kept in a barrister-style bookcase and is from an adult, non-smoking household. Someone for whom this is a favorite title would enjoy this edition!
