True vintage 1970s - when bought in Hong Kong, was told this design is based on an antique tablecloth design for the Ming Dynasty Emperor's Forbidden City banquet table. Stunning - completely new & unused. Large top quality silk organza tablecloth in very light 'fawn' colour with 12 matching embroidered cotton napkins, with 'forbidden stitch' silk embroidery which shines and cutout work. So elegant - absolutely unique item. Auspicious symbols & patterns, outline shapes butterflies, in shades of jade green, silver, brown, beige, taupe, white. Slightly scalloped edges, embroidered in brown. Stunning quality - stunning item. Was very expensive at time of purchase. Has been stored carefully away for decades, and only unfolded today for photos. I've included 1 photo (last photos) on a dark wood table - to show how this would look too. Approx size: Tablecloth 226 cm x 180 cm
Happy to post internationally. I’ve subscribed to eBay's 'Global Shipping Programme'. For buyers from the USA/Canada/Asia/Australia: if the automated shipping rate looks too high (or is missing), contact me BEFORE bidding & I will check if a cheaper shipping option is available. (Especially if the items are small & light). And if there is, I will then change the listed shipping rate just for you. Also contact me BEFORE bidding if you want to buy multiple items, so I can calculate the actual combined shipping rate for you in advance. Thanking you for your understanding. |
