Antique art nouveau cast iron fireplace surround with stylised pomegranate detail typical of this period. Complete with mantle and removable bars. Beautiful detail in the casting with the registered design number on the back (see photo).

Great condition for its age. It is old and has had a life however, so it isn’t perfect. Overall condition is as shown in photos. One minor crack to the back right of the mantle that has been previously strengthened with spot welding (see photos) and feels structurally sound. We have built out the right lug on the removal bars with some epoxy metal putty to ensure a good fit in the slot (see photo) - this lug is barely noticeable in use.

Fully restored, stripped and polished with Liberon Iron Paste which has been buffed to give a graphite shine, but could be made matt black with another coat and no buffing.

The fireplace is pretty much flush at the back so it would not necessarily need to sit over an opening.
