Epox EP-MVP3G5 VIA MVP3 Super Socket 7 Motherboard

The EPOX EP-MVP3G5 is one of the best Super Socket 7 mainboards ever produced. It supports 768 MB SD-RAM and it can make good use of it due to it´s large 2MB cache.

In adition to that the BIOS has a lot of options most other boards don´t have at all, especially chipset / memory settings.

The board supports all common and uncommon CPUs like Intel Pentium I / MMX / AMD K6 / K6-2 / K6-3 / K6-3+ / VIA / Cyrix / WinChip C5 / WinChip C6 / Rise Mp6 / Geode.

The photos show a discoloration on the CPU socket. This is caused by the age and some heat as well as Ozone.

Near the capacitors and the coil a little ozone is created and is causes the brown discoloration on one side of the socket.

It is not "burnt" or anything, just plastic discoloration.

Another feature is the very good AGP stability. I tested the board with several cards like the Voodoo 3 and Voodoo 5 5500 AGP and never had any problems.

The IDE interface is decent, it supports UDMA 66.
