Historic both in its subject matter and as an object, this rare Syracuse China plate commemorates a colonial New York landmark.

The British outpost of Fort William Henry was built on the shores of Lake George in 1755. The bloody siege that followed its defeat at the hands of the French and their Native American allies was forever commemorated in James Fenimore Cooper's " Last of the Mohicans." A link to more info on the fort's history can be found below.

The rimmed, 10 1/2" plate is in EUC with no cracks, chips, crazing or repairs. The design is intact, as shown. It is marked with both printed and embossed back stamps which the company's thankfully precise records indicate means it was produced in April of 1915.

Historic, antique plate will elevate any Colonial, New York state or Syracuse China collection. Significant collectible ships USPS Ground Advantage from Los Angeles.
