Intel Pentium Pro 200 Mhz 1M SL259 Socket 8 CPU NOS (new)
The Intel Pentium Pro 200 1M is the fastest Socket 8 CPU. With 1 MB of cache and a brand new micro architecture which is used to this day, this CPU is the foundation of modern CPUs. Almost all Intel CPUs are based on the PentiumPro. Compared to the Intel Pentium 200 it has better performance if the application makes use of the cache and is a 32 bit application. The PentiumPro is optimized for 32 bit application while the Pentium I is optimized for 16 bit applications.
If you build a Windows 2000 retro gaming PC, this CPU has outstanding performance and is SMP capable. SMP means that you can use two CPUs on a multi CPU motherboard.
The CPU is new and was tested to be sure it is still working after about 30 years since it was manufactured. It was tested in Windows 2000 in a 2 CPU configuration.
